Murals/ Public Work

“Fresh Harvest” 2012

I designed this mural by building a crate to the unique dimensions of the wall. Then I purchased a cart full of produce from my local Kroger. I held a photoshoot in my backyard using natural sunlight and a rotating table. The final adjustments were made in photoshop. Once the design was chosen by Kroger, my team and I transferred the image with a grid. Each 1 inch square became a 2 feet square. The first layer of paint blocked in the basic colors of light and shadow. Then different apprentices were given specific areas to carry further. The final embellishments were added by me and a small detail team.

“Carol Ann’s Carousel” 2015

This two year project included 16 Cincinnati Park scenes for the exterior and 16 historic landmark paintings for the interior wall. To activate the park landscapes and build a narrative into each piece, I designed over 30 animals characters to populate the parks.

“Cincinnati Toy Heritage” 2016

Some of the greatest toy lines ever made came out of the city I call home. Kenner made many amazing toys and this mural honors the All-Star cast that had the biggest impact. Mr. Potato Head was included at the request of corporate sponsors to represent the purchase of Kenner by Hasbro.

“Taft Eating Tacos” at CONDADO Oakley 2019

What a fun project to collaborate in a space with ten other artists! My wall depicts William Howard Taft taking a leisurely trip down the river in a taco-filled canoe.  The 20th Century Theater stands against the late day sunset.  Unbeknownst to President Taft there are three dinosaur toys with their eyes on his culinary prize!
